Your Members Review

The plugin as well as the documentation is now live on Github.

Cheap, but Buggy

Your Members has the cheapest option of the bunch with their $50 single user license.  However, in this case, you get what you pay for.  The plugin is a bit buggy and there are a few glaring features left out.

What’s Wrong With It?

First and most importantly, you cannot protect files from direct access.  So while the casual internet user may not figure out how to access your file using source code and figuring out file structure, the savvy internet user will be able to go in and steal your files with ease.

Also, because there are a number of time-based options for delivering content (which is a good thing), the menus can become a little confusing when you’re trying to configure your site (which is a bad thing).

And if you need support, your only option is a very basic support documentation section and a public forum.  There is no ticket system for this plugin.  This can be a real problem if you run into any issues configuring your plugin.

But it’s Only $50

This is true, but if you are serious about making your money online, some corners just shouldn’t be cut.  Just like you wouldn’t get free hosting and would instead use a reputable host such as HostGator, you shouldn’t reach for the bottom of the barrel when it comes to your WordPress membership plugin.

Do yourself a favor and go with Digital Access Pass instead.
